"Part of my current aspirations is to become an Electrical and Electronics Engineer, thanks to the GCC Foundation I am one step closer to achieving my goal. By awarding me with the Laptop Scholarship the Gateway Foundation has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as the GCC Foundation helped me achieve my goals."
"This scholarship is important to me because it will help me take a step further in my studies. I will not have to borrow a laptop anymore, in order to get homework done. After graduating, I will choose between working at Yale-New Haven Hospital or Haiti, my home country."
"Receiving this scholarship lifts a heavy burden, and greatly assists in my ability to complete my homework… it lessens the stress levels of being a student… Receiving this scholarship has greatly impacted my life, and I can confidently say that I will not let you down, by taking the responsibility of being a productive student, thank you again!"
"This laptop scholarship will help me lower my book costs as I will be able to buy the digital book rather the used hard copy. This will also allow me to concentrate better as I can take my studies to the library rather than have to try to work in my noisy apartment complex."
"I always wanted my own personal laptop and have been saving up to get one around black Friday but thankfully with this award I can put the money to paying my tuition… Again, I sincerely want to thank all those who were involved who made this possible, thank you from the bottom of my heart and also thank you for choosing me for this award."
"Thanks to this donation, this scholarship will help reduce the cost of my tuition given my immense medical expenses due to my chronic illness. I am currently a sophomore pursuing the Ultrasound major at Gateway. I would like to specialize in OB/GYN sonography as I am interested in this prenatal care and working with mothers-to-be."
